SAVANNAH, Ga. — Sandy Peaches Productions has begun production on 'Weewax', the company's first feature film. It tells the story of Weewax, a struggling artist who discovers that a mob has been murdering his peers to increase the value of their work — and he's next.

Sandy Peaches principal Nick Benas directs the screenplay by Andy Wasif, author of the humor book 'Red Sox Fans Are From Mars, Yankees Fans Are From Uranus'. The film is produced by John Andrucci of Lucky Uncle Productions and stars Tristan Webb as Weewax, with fiscal sponsorship through the Trilith Institute.

'Weewax' is among the first projects selected for Trilith Institute's new fiscal-sponsorship program, which lets independent filmmakers raise tax-deductible funding under the Institute's 501(c)(3) status while keeping full creative control.

Benas is an actor, producer and author whose on-screen credits include 'Stranger Things', 'Manhunt', 'The Exorcist: Believer', 'Rustin', 'Outer Banks' and HBO's 'The Righteous Gemstones'; behind the camera he has directed the shorts 'Rose Scented Revenge' and 'Cotton Cut'. Andrucci is an award-winning filmmaker and children's author developing 'Alfred & Phoebe: The Legend of Jenny Greenteeth'. Wasif, a Boston-bred stand-up comedian, wrote the feature script 'The 70 Year Itch', optioned by Amazon Studios, and the short 'Adult Puberty' featuring Barry Bostwick.

Production begins in early 2026, with post-production in spring and a summer 2026 release planned.
