LOS ANGELES, CA — October 2026 — What if the only way to feel better was to build yourself a new body? 'Sick and Tired', an upcoming horror-comedy short film written by Christina Marie Leonard, explores this gruesome question through the story of a young woman who enlists her scientist boyfriend to reconstruct her brain and body from human remains in a desperate attempt to cure her depression and chronic illness.

Blending body horror, dark comedy, and emotionally resonant themes, 'Sick and Tired' takes the frustrations of living with chronic illness and mental health struggles to a grotesque new extreme. With a premise that combines the absurdity of mad science with the deeply human desire for relief, the film explores what happens when the search for a cure goes horrifyingly too far.

Written by actor, comedian, and filmmaker Christina Marie Leonard, the project uses horror and humor to approach experiences that are often difficult to articulate. By pushing the desire to feel better to a monstrous extreme, 'Sick and Tired' aims to find dark comedy in the desperation, absurdity, and emotional exhaustion that can accompany the search for relief.

The screenplay is complete, and the film is currently in pre-production, crowdfunding on Seed&Spark, with production planned for January 2027.

With its blend of body horror, twisted romance, and darkly comedic storytelling, 'Sick and Tired' offers a fresh take on the classic mad-scientist narrative—one in which the monster isn't simply something to fear, but may represent the lengths someone will go to escape their own suffering.
