Actress and singer Carolina De Athey has joined the cross-cultural drama 'Eyes of Salt' as Lauren Andrews, a mysterious figure whose narrative and voice help unlock the film’s central mystery.
The production wrapped filming in Los Angeles and Sydney in December 2025 and is targeting an October film festival debut and release. James Pratt directs and stars alongside Bernice Liu, Erin Anne Gray, Melody Law, Kelly Monisse, Mark Sturzenegger, Kev Hannibal, Randy Charach and Damian Nixey.
De Athey plays a New York native whose connection to Tanner helps explain why he leaves the United States to visit his estranged father after 30 years in Bondi Beach.
The film was highlighted at FILMART in Hong Kong in March. Haley Lynch produces, with Sasha Waseem serving as associate producer. Justin L. Levine is executive producer; Carly Granovsky oversaw casting; Erico Lerda is second-unit director; and Claudia Loughlin is cinematographer.
“I’ve known Carolina for some time and seen her work before, so we were excited to be able to secure her,” Pratt said. “She brings depth and an undeniable presence to Lauren Andrews, balancing the mystery and emotional weight required for this character.”
The bilingual film includes dialogue in Cantonese from Liu and Law.
