The film follows the carnage unleashed by a cursed surfboard, dubbed Plankenstein, as it protects a secret Hawaiian royal heir through a series of gruesome, often darkly comic murders. Director Diq Diamond's inspiration came from an unlikely source: a battered surfboard he rescued from Oahu's North Shore. "I repaired it with metal hinges and twine, creating a Frankensteinian board that sparked the idea for Plankenstein," Diamond explains.
