LOS ANGELES — Goreella Media has announced the completion of its fifth feature film, ‘Short Fuse,’ an electrifying sci-fi urban thriller directed by indie filmmaker Kevin Van Stevenson. The 100-minute film is set to make waves on the festival circuit, with a cast including David W. Rice, Sara Gellert, Ian Hummel, and Zari Rose.

The film follows a hacker falsely accused of a crime he did not commit, navigating a corrupted system in a high-stakes fight for justice. Inspired by Stevenson’s own teenage experience with a wrongful accusation, the story amplifies the emotional and societal weight of such injustices.

“This project is deeply personal,” Stevenson said. “‘Short Fuse’ shines a light on the imperfections of our judicial system, where too many are wrongly accused, and some, out of desperation, plead guilty to crimes they didn’t commit. If you’ve ever felt unjustly accused, this film will resonate deeply.”

Lead actor David W. Rice is an American actor with more than 25 short films and six features to his credit, and a trained stage-combat performer whose physicality is showcased in the film. Known for his gritty cinematic style and a decade of cinematography experience, Stevenson blends sci-fi intensity with urban realism. Goreella Media, a blue-collar production company based in Los Angeles, specializes in narrative films, documentaries, music videos, and commercials.
