Shoot Your Shot Film Festival Announces 2027 Atlanta Return

ATLANTA, October 2, 2026 — Shoot Your Shot Film Festival (SYSFF) is preparing its fourth edition in Atlanta, with August 27–29, 2027, as its planned festival dates. Submissions are now open through FilmFreeway.

Following live editions in 2022, 2023 and 2024, SYSFF returns with a focus on independent filmmakers and their next steps. The festival is developing programming that connects film exhibition with practical conversations about audiences and the business of filmmaking.

Submissions welcome narrative features and shorts, documentaries, animation, student films, music videos and screenplays. Categories also include original social media creator content and AI-generated or AI-assisted films.

Screenings, filmmaker conversations, networking and educational programming are being developed for the 2027 edition. The venue and final schedule will be announced as arrangements are confirmed.

The festival is seeking experienced film professionals for its judging panel. Interested professionals should email a biography and areas of expertise; responsibilities and conflict-of-interest requirements will be provided before appointments.

Film buyers, distributors and sales agents can contact SYSFF to receive program updates as selections are confirmed. Industry participation will be announced when confirmed.

Eligibility, entry fees and full deadlines are available on FilmFreeway. The early-bird deadline is November 30, 2026; the final deadline is June 15, 2027. Selection notifications are scheduled for July 15, 2027.
