Bell Fibe TV1 has ordered '2Bed + Jen,' a Hamilton-set comedy series from Lumida Productions.
Co-created by Jess Blackwell and Steve Chambers, the series follows two Hamilton cousins navigating the cost-of-living crisis when a whimsical woman on the run enters their lives.
Blackwell and her cousin-in-law Jacqueline DeWitt will star as the cousins. Blackwell and Chambers will direct, with Blackwell serving as showrunner. Filming is scheduled to begin in downtown Hamilton in October.
The series is expected to premiere on Bell Fibe TV1 in spring 2027 and will be available on demand for Fibe TV subscribers.
“It was important to me to highlight the positive and humorous aspects of life in Hamilton,” Blackwell said. “Our hope is that '2Bed + Jen' will provide a moment of relief during a time when so many people are struggling with the cost-of-living crisis.”
The production team includes director of photography Colin Evans, editors Tim Blackburn and Andrew King, sound editors Brad Tigwell and Vanessa Hannah, and producer-writer Cassandra Sirois.
