LOS ANGELES — The award-winning psychological thriller 'The Good Twin' has launched its Kickstarter campaign, a pivotal step toward production for the feature written and directed by Zach Bliss. The launch followed a private rooftop showcase at Skybar at the Mondrian LA, where industry guests gathered for an early look at the project.
The film arrives on the heels of festival distinctions including wins at the Culver City Film Festival and the Hollywood Blood Horror Festival, a Best Thriller Screenplay award from The Script Lab, and finalist placements at the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards and the Filmmatic Thriller Awards.
Logline: When a tragic accident kills his identical twin brother, a disgraced ex-cop seizes the chance to bury the body and assume his brother's perfect life — a decorated career, the wife he's always loved and a daughter who trusts him blindly. But every lie has a cost, and each passing day threatens to expose him.
Blending intimate character study with high-tension thriller elements, the film evokes the psychological unease of 'Prisoners' and the identity-driven suspense of 'The Talented Mr. Ripley'. Themes of celiac disease and invisible disability are woven into the narrative through Sierra, a rebellious 15-year-old whose condition anchors the film's real-world stakes.
Through partnerships with the Oklahoma Film Commission and the Cherokee Nation Film Office, the production qualifies for a 55% rebate. The team includes producing partners Dave Polcino Corwin ('Family Guy') and Aquela Davis, with three-time Grammy-winning composer Nadeem Majdalany attached to score.
