LOS ANGELES — The award-winning short film ‘The Last Fifteen Minutes’ screened at the Playhouse West Film Festival on Saturday, Aug. 23, at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood, followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers.

Directed by Edo Natasha, ‘The Last Fifteen Minutes’ is a real-time drama that explores the unraveling of an intercultural marriage in the intimacy of a living room. The film stars Indonesian actress Runny Rudiyanti (Netflix Indonesia, Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival) alongside Samuel Selman, an LA-based actor and Playhouse West alumnus.

The film has already drawn international recognition, earning selection at the Soo Film Festival in Michigan and praise from Asian Movie Pulse, which described it as “a well-executed short that offers a thoughtful commentary on the challenges of interracial and intercultural marriages.”

Natasha, an Academy Gold Rising alumnus and U.S. Army veteran, crafted the film with cinematographer Braden Lawrence using Cooke lenses and a Kodak 2383 film-stock emulation in postproduction. “Despite being a tragedy,” Natasha said, “we wanted it to look beautiful — because at its heart, this is a love story.”
