PITTSBURGH — The Cookies & Comedy Film Festival is now accepting submissions for its 2026 edition, scheduled for March 14 at the Harris Theater in Downtown Pittsburgh.
The one-day showcase highlights short-form comedy from around the world alongside Pittsburgh’s own creators. Each film block is hosted by live stand-up comedians, followed by filmmaker Q&As. The event concludes with awards and a classic Pittsburgh cookie-table celebration.
Submissions are open through Dec. 31, 2025, with notifications sent on Jan. 14, 2026. Eligible entries include comedy shorts—typically under 20 minutes—completed in 2023 or later. Filmmakers may submit via FilmFreeway using the discount code MAXIT4COOKIES at https://filmfreeway.com/CookiesFilmFest.
Following a sold-out inaugural year that screened more than 30 shorts, the festival expands to the nearly 200-seat Harris Theater while maintaining its intimate, filmmaker-focused atmosphere.
“Pittsburgh loves comedy,” said festival founder and director Scott Danzig. “I want to give both filmmakers and fans an unforgettable Pittsburgh experience.”
The festival welcomes local, national and international submissions, with programming that spans satire, sketch, character pieces, musical comedy and genre-bending hybrids. Sponsors and community partners are encouraged to get involved.
