There’s no shortage of AI-generated content, but very little of it tells a story. As a longtime animator, I’ve spent years crafting narratives frame by frame, emotion by emotion. So I set out to explore a question: Can AI do more than produce striking visuals? Can it create a quiet, emotional story? I challenged myself to use AI to build a narrative-driven short film - one character, one journey, no dialogue. Just atmosphere, pacing and a subtle sense of purpose.
Getting AI to slow down and serve the story, not just the spectacle proved surprisingly difficult. But that was the point. The result is “The Last Light,” my first AI-generated short film, submitted to the LTX Studio 1-Minute Film Festival in Berlin.
