HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Pix/See Productions will premiere the mystery-drama ‘The Mystery of Emma Thorn’ at the iconic Chinese Theatre in Hollywood as part of the Silicon Beach Film Festival. The new feature from Gregory Blair stars cult film icon Lynn Lowry in the title role — a woman whose strange disappearance leaves her husband, adult son, and a police detective to unravel how and why.
‘The Mystery of Emma Thorn’ is the third feature for Blair and his production company, following the psychological thriller ‘Deadly Revisions’ and the comedy-horror ‘Garden Party Massacre.’ “I’m very honored to have the film’s world premiere at the Chinese Theatre — the most iconic palace theater in Hollywood,” Blair said. “To have ‘The Mystery of Emma Thorn’ screen there in a way cements the film as part of that legacy.”
In the character-driven film, beloved wife and mother Emma Thorn (Lowry) has gone missing. Husband Ari (Blair) and mildly autistic adult son Casper (Charles Chudabala) enlist a police detective (Kevin Caliber) to find her, but the circumstances are puzzling, and Casper suspects his father is haunted by something more than his wife’s absence. Bit by bit, the truth comes out, leading to a heartbreaking discovery.
“It’s ultimately a film about relationships and connection,” Blair said. “The characters’ struggles, their love, their family dynamics, and their grief make the film so much more than a mystery; it’s an emotional journey about loss, love, and the causes and costs of lies.” The film also features Xavier Roe as Oliver, with cinematography by Sophia Cacciola, sound design by Chris Carlone, and an original score by Everett Young.
