KENNESAW, Ga. — ‘Wonderworld: The Remixed Musical,’ created by Brett Schieber and Tree (Arcanum), is a genre-defying gothic fairytale — a cross between ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ and Tim Burton-inspired visuals — now being pitched for adaptation into a stop-motion or animated feature for theatrical release or streaming.

With an emotionally charged narrative, a darkly whimsical aesthetic, and a soundtrack that evokes The Cure and Depeche Mode, the musical tells the story of Max, a confused and lonely boy who is picked on at school and finds solace only in his art. But will his art torture or save him?

The creators see animation as the natural next step, citing studios such as Laika (‘Coraline,’ ‘ParaNorman’), Netflix Animation, and A24 as ideal partners for its eerie charm. They are actively seeking literary agents, production companies, and streaming partners to expand ‘Wonderworld’ into a full-scale animated feature.
