MIAMI — The spoken-word short film ‘Words Like Shrapnel’ has received official selections at two international film festivals: the Cinestesya Film Festival in Porto, Portugal, and the Lift-Off Sessions 2025 — Volume 6 at Pinewood Studios in London. Written and performed with emotional depth, the film offers a personal lens on migration, family, inherited fear, and the power of language, blending poetic narrative with striking visuals.

“This recognition means the world to us,” said director and creator Víctor Rodolfo Jiménez. “It is both humbling and electrifying to have our film screened at Cinestesya, a festival renowned for innovative cinematic expression, and at Pinewood Studios with Lift-Off Sessions, a platform that promotes emerging voices. These selections affirm that personal stories told honestly can resonate on a global scale.”

The selections situate ‘Words Like Shrapnel’ within a growing movement of experimental spoken-word cinema, allowing international audiences to engage with the film while exploring conversations around art, migration, and the transformative power of storytelling.
