NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Aug. 13, 2025 – She’s All the Rage, a 15-minute romantic comedy short from indie filmmaker Mehki Liggon, premiered on YouTube on Aug. 2. The film follows Sierra, a young Black influencer navigating the pressures of love, family expectations and social media scrutiny as she reflects on three relationships—and the very public fallout that ensues.

Inspired by Spike Lee’s She’s Gotta Have It, the short reimagines the tone and structure of the original while centering a modern Black woman at the heart of her own messy, hilarious and complicated love story.

“With She’s All the Rage, I wanted to honor the tone and structure of Spike Lee’s original while placing a Black woman influencer firmly at the center of her own messy, hilarious, complicated love story,” Liggon said. “It’s about how identity, self-worth and public perception collide in the digital age.”

The film blends sharp wit with honest insight into the complexities of contemporary dating, capturing both humor and authenticity. It is available to stream for free on YouTube. A press kit—including synopsis, poster, cast information and behind-the-scenes stills—is available upon request.
