LOS ANGELES – Aug. 14, 2025 – After Earth is destroyed in a cataclysmic war, the last remnants of humanity flee to a harsh, mysterious planet called Zebra. Amid the chaos, a quiet outsider named Chris Qonnor, played by Yakov Kolontarov, discovers that the key to survival — and the truth about his past — lies buried within his DNA.
Alongside Xyra, portrayed by Lara Salem, a brilliant warrior haunted by her parents’ murder, Qonnor uncovers a conspiracy that could either save this new world or destroy it forever.
Written, directed and produced by Kolontarov as an entirely original work, ‘Chris Qonnor: The Hero’ is a mind-bending science fiction adventure inspired by the sweeping heroism of ‘Man of Steel,’ the magical wonder of ‘Harry Potter’ and the epic adventure of ‘The Mummy.’ The film blends action, mystery and emotion into a cinematic experience Kolontarov says audiences “won’t forget.”
Kolontarov, the founder of Midnight Pictures, has spent more than 15 years in the entertainment industry as an actor, writer and producer. He has appeared in hit series and films on platforms including Netflix, NBC, Apple TV and Roku TV, with credits in projects such as ‘I Think You Should Leave,’ ‘The Holy Trinity’ and ‘Winning Back the Ex.’ His work spans comedy, drama, action and science fiction, earning him a reputation for bringing ambitious, heartfelt stories to life on independent and mainstream stages alike.
The project, which Kolontarov hopes to expand into a full-length feature film, is now streaming worldwide on YouTube, BiliBili TV and other platforms, where it is attracting attention from science fiction fans across the globe.
Kolontarov is also set to return next year with ‘Breaking Point: A Deadly Heart,’ a high-octane action thriller promising intense drama, explosive sequences and emotional depth.
