LOS ANGELES – Jan. 2, 2026 – House of Dynamite and Queens of the Dead star Quincy Dunn-Baker leads the short film “Baby Fat", the directorial debut of Elliot Frances Flynn, known for her role as Zora in Season 2 of HBOmax’s Peacemaker.
Set in 2006, "Baby Fat" follows a thirteen-year-old bookworm whose world is upended when her friends form an after-school prostitution ring — and her favorite teacher (Dunn-Baker) begins giving her special attention. The film also stars young talent Cameron Dawson Gray (Family, Fleishman Is in Trouble) and Taylor Madeline Hand (Fresh Kills, Summer Camp).
Flynn, who wrote and directed, said the film examines the toxic culture of the early 2000s that forced girls into “good” or “bad” boxes. “That era’s fixation on sex and shame shaped how a generation of girls saw themselves,” Flynn said. “Baby Fat looks at what happens when that gaze turns predatory.”
The short was shot in New York’s Hudson Valley and produced by Amelia Spitler (Shiva Baby) and executive produced by Flynn and Zeus Kontoyannis (Blood Shine, Dream Creep). Joshua Echevarria (Daughter of the Sea) served as director of photography, with casting by Heidi K. Eklund (The Hating Game).
A House of Dynamite had its world premiere in the main competition of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival and is now streaming on Netflix. Queens of the Dead premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and had a theatrical release in October. Dunn-Baker’s credits also include Inventing Anna, Black Mirror, and No Hard Feelings. He is repped by Buchwald and TMT Entertainment Group. Flynn is repped by Exclusive Artists Agency. Her acting credits include Long Bright River, Only Murders in the Building, and NYT Critic’s Pick Linoleum.
