
ATLANTA — ‘Perfect Purpose,’ a compelling drama co-directed by Bryan McClure and Kevin Saunders, has made its debut on the indie film circuit after earning multiple nominations at the 2024 168 Hour Film Festival. Created for the timed Christian film festival, the short was shot, edited, and completed within just 168 hours, standing out for both storytelling and technical achievement.
Written by McClure and Saunders, ‘Perfect Purpose’ stars Kaylee Brooks, Leo Parker, Mona Amein, and Evan Covacevich in a story about a Grammy-winning artist whose pristine life collapses when she is confronted with a haunting secret from her past. Brooks and Parker lead a dynamic ensemble whose on-screen chemistry captures both vulnerability and vibrancy.
At the festival, ‘Perfect Purpose’ received seven nominations, including Best Speed Film, Best Screenplay, and Best Director — recognizing both McClure and Saunders. Brady Holcomb was nominated for Best Cinematography and Evan Bushkar for Best Editing, while Leo Parker earned a Best Supporting Actor nomination and Kaylee Brooks a Best Actress nod.
“We set out to tell an authentic, emotional story that would impact others, and I think we did this with both creativity and quality while also being on a limited budget,” co-director Bryan McClure said.
