LOS ANGELES – Jan. 2, 2026 – Beydi Wells is a devoted photographer, wife, and mother of two toddlers whose days blur together under the weight of routine. Between work, childcare, and exhaustion, her creativity has dulled, and her confidence eroded by body dysmorphia and constant comparison. She moves through life on autopilot, doing everything for everyone but herself.
One chaotic morning, as she rushes to a branding shoot, her house mirrors her internal disarray: toys scattered across the floor, toddlers fussing, and her husband heading out the door for work. There is only time for a quick, silent kiss before both are swallowed by their routines. Later, at a quiet library, Beydi hopes for a moment of peace—but her client never arrives. As she waits, an old woman appears between the aisles and whispers, “Your life will change today.”
Beydi smiles politely, unsettled, and notices a book on the floor. Picking it up, a photograph slips out—a picture of a strikingly beautiful model, confident and flawless. Without thinking, Beydi whispers, “I wish I looked like her.”
Back in her car, Beydi adjusts the rearview mirror—and freezes. The reflection staring back is not her own but the woman from the photograph. Initially terrified, she soon marvels at her new body and the attention it draws. She spends the day immersed in her transformed identity, shopping, photographing, eating without guilt, and laughing freely. For the first time in years, she feels alive.
But joy turns to despair when she returns home. Her husband does not recognize her, her children hide behind his legs, and Beydi is left outside, pleading to be seen. Alone and heartbroken, she collapses, realizing that the life she envied comes with a painful cost.
The next morning, Beydi wakes in her own bed, her reflection restored. She rushes downstairs, eager to share the dreamlike experience with her husband. But time has moved without her: her husband has aged decades, and her toddlers are now grown adults. Through the window, the old woman from the library watches silently before walking away. Beydi’s scream pierces the air as the screen cuts to black.
Mom Switched explores the silent burnout of motherhood, the illusion of perfection, and the fragility of time. Through a mix of suspense, humor, and emotional depth, the film asks audiences to consider what it truly means to live in the moment and appreciate one’s own life.
The project is produced by liliacreativity photography and productions, led by Lilia A’hearn. Lilia has also produced the short film Captured Hearts and is in the process of filming additional projects, including Mom Switched, a time-travel commercial, a fashion commercial, and the feature film Starlight and You, inspired by her own Hallmark-style love story.
