LOS ANGELES — 'Etched', a short film co-written by Shannon Mitchell and Georgina Elizabeth Okon, directed by Okon and starring Okon alongside Gregory A. Thompson, continues to make an impact on the festival circuit with its portrayal of love, faith and forgiveness.

Shot entirely on an iPhone XR with no crew and no budget, 'Etched' was born from a friend's challenge for Okon to enter the Reimagine iPhone Film Festival — where it won the Showcase Prize. It later received the Mini-Film Award at the Christian Online Film Festival and is a finalist at the Last Evangelist Film & Music Festival in Brookville, Ohio.

Exploring the flawed nature of love within a marriage, 'Etched' reveals what happens when a relationship faces the brink of divorce but grace brings reconciliation. The story unfolds entirely within a single living room, its minimalist cinematography emerging naturally from the film's constraints.

“'Etched' is, at its core, a story of grace,” said Okon. “It represents the moment a divine ambush forced me out of my prison of fear.”

A British-born Nigerian actor, voiceover artist and first-time filmmaker based in Los Angeles, Okon has appeared in CBS's 'Bob Hearts Abishola', Hulu's 'Shrill' and Nickelodeon's 'The Really Loud House', and starred in 'Fugitive Zero', a performance that earned multiple Best Supporting Actress awards. 'Etched' marks her directorial debut.
