MILWAUKEE — 'Creature Fear', an indie horror feature written and directed by Manny Gumina, dives deep into psychological terror and suspense. The film chronicles the harrowing story of a starving felon whose descent into madness turns violent after he consumes diseased venison, dramatically affecting the lives of two musicians in a small Wisconsin town.
Featuring performances by Natalie Gerene, Jarrod Langwinski and Billy Chengary, 'Creature Fear' is produced by Gumina, Derek Schmitt and Jake Prine. Filmed in the very county where infamous killer Ed Gein committed his crimes, the project brings historical true-crime intrigue to a modern horror narrative.
With a runtime of 82 minutes, 'Creature Fear' blends horror, thriller and crime to create a suspense-driven experience whose atmospheric tension, character-driven storytelling and authentic Midwestern setting set it apart from conventional indie horror. The film has its world premiere at the Buried Alive Film Festival in Atlanta on Nov. 7, 2025.
