LOS ANGELES — Belle Films has signed a substantial letter of intent to join ‘#blindhope,’ the bilingual romantic musical drama celebrated by The Black List for its “commercial promise, colorful characters, and deliciously melodramatic tone.” The project is now in active development and seeking final funding ahead of production.

Written by Emmy-nominated, GLAAD winner Charo Toledo, ‘#blindhope’ is a bold fusion of genres, blending romance, music, and sport in a two-language tapestry set on and off the soccer field in the lead-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The film’s original bilingual soundtrack and ambitious cinematic scope are positioned to become a global cultural event timed to one of the world’s most watched sports moments.

“With Belle Films on board, we’re one step closer to bringing this global love story to life,” said Toledo. “The 2026 World Cup provides a once-in-a-generation stage for a film that unites audiences through love, music, and sport.”

The Black List praised the project’s reach: “In the wake of the successes of ‘Emilia Pérez’ and ‘Wicked,’ this film presents plenty of commercial promise. Marquee Latino/a actors could leap at the opportunity, and with a visionary director on board, this thing could be well on its way to theaters or streaming services before long.” With a built-in international audience and brand-integration opportunities tied to the World Cup, development financing is open for strategic partners, co-producers, and distributors.
