Dallas, TX – August 5 th 2025 – The Film Festival Doctor Podcast, co-produced & hosted by Film Festival Strategist Dr Rebekah Louisa Smith, will be going on a live tour during August. The Film Festival Doctor is an established film festival strategy consulting company which launched in 2011. Rebekah’s Podcast is currently the only one that exists which is dedicated to helping emerging & established filmmakers from all over the world learn how to – 1. create a film festival strategy for their film, 2. understand how film festival programming works and 3. Knowing what festivals look for when selecting films for their festival.  Rebekah wanted to do a live Podcast as her goal was to give this very niche and specialist area of education wider exposure and to take a deep dive into film festival programming with her guests to give audience members the opportunity to connect with Festival Programmers and build a rapport with them. Rebekah has confirmed for the live shows members from the Oscar Qualifying deadCenter programming team, the USA’s largest genre festival Fantastic Fest, 3 of LA’s most respected festivals; North Hollywood Cinefest, New Filmmakers Los Angeles, Dances with Films and the renowned Arab Film & Media Institute. The first stop is the Oscar Qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival on August 11 th 6.00pm, Suite #411, Ovation Hollywood, Los Angeles. More live dates will be announced soon as several more shows are being confirmed. ‘I’m super excited to get these 2 Live shows on the road, they’re the first of their kind for this type of educational series. They’re going to be so much fun and also intimate as the audiences will really get to know the Programmers and will feel like they have become friends with them by the end of the event’ Smith explains. ‘I have an amazing line up of guests confirmed who can’t wait to be a part of this new movement in Podcasting.’

Six of Rebekah’s clients will be screening their films at HollyShorts including ‘11.11’ Directed by Mahnoor Euceph and Executive Producer Cate Blanchett. Environmental Documentary ‘WHAT THE RIVER KNOWS’, fantasy short film ‘THE PEARL COMB’, Sci Fi drama ‘ONE LAST ROUND’ starring Jake McDoorman, ‘GOING’ starring Nicholas Pinnock & micro short ‘THE PICNIC’ directed by Emmy Nominated stunt Coordinator Cory DeMeyers.
